1. To provide a space to learn, present and use their knowledge in accounting and any related field.
2. To help develop a high standard of proficiency in accounting and practice high value of ethnics to be an accountant.
3. Provide latest, useful and professional information taken from reliable sources about the future of accounting so that all the members will be more informed and prepared to the real world of accounting.
4. Broaden the mindset of every member towards accounting or any related field with both theory and practical.
5. To act as a mediator to provide opportunity to student who interested in accounting to join more event and activity that related to accounting in order to further enhance and encourage member’s interest.
History
Chan Chei Mei is the founder of Accounting Society. She wishes to organize many accounting events which are beneficial to all accounting students and myself. As in Perak Campus, there is no such society.
It is her vision and mission since she was pursuing Foundation in Arts in PJ Campus. When the time she was pursuing her Degree in Year One, she has contacted her friend- Bau Ken Yin to form the Accounting Society, Ken Yin was one of the friends that they corporate to organize several events in PJ campus. They were looking for the enthusiasm and capable accounting students to form the society.
They have the very 1st General meeting on 27th August 2008(Wednesday) in room D205 at 2pm, this is to elect the 1st batch of committee member as stated above.
Before the formal establishment, the pro-tem committee did help in ACCA Talk & CIMA Talk.
1st Recruitment Drive is from 14th-20th August 2008 in cafeteria, Block C.
They have successfully recruited 100 ordinary members and 1 associate member.
They have faced difficulties in the 1st year of establishment, due to lack of experience and contact, Chei Mei was working hard to contact the senior and her friends in Sg Long campus for their guidance and here to guide the committee member what should the Accounting Society organize in order to benefit the members.
But, they have fun together in organizing the events and build the friendship at the same time.
